How Does a Dishwasher Work?

To simplify the understanding of the work of a dishwasher, you can refer to it as a robot. This robot is programmed to do the cleansing and rinsing of the dirty utensils, however, human support is necessary for the desired function.

  • If you are having a dishwasher at your home, you have to install it at a place where it can get the water automatically, just like you connect water to the inlet valve of the washing machine.

  • The next step that you have to do manually is adding the detergent to the detergent box of the dishwasher.

  • Also, you have to add the utensils in the dishwasher as per the instructions in the manual or the demo given by the serviceman while installation.

When the dishwasher is available with the water source and the detergent source, the rest of the functioning is done by it automatically.

  • Step 1: Switch On The Device:

Once you switch on the device after putting your utensils in the dishwasher, it adds the water to the dishwasher. The level of water in the dishwasher may vary depending on the dishes in your appliance. Do not overload the device, or you might have to call a professional for Dishwasher Repair.

  • Step 2: Setting the Temperature of Water:

Once the water is filled in the dishwasher, your appliance would increase the temperature of water by the heating process. The required temperature is predefined in the dishwasher.

  • Step 3: Adds the Detergent:

As the detergent is filled with the water at the necessary temperature, it would automatically open the detergent dispenser inlet. It will accept the required amount of detergent and then close the detergent dispenser.

  • Step 4: Jet is Sprayed on the Dishes:

In the next step, the appliance sprays a jet of water to all the dishes one by one for the cleaning. The necessary amount of water is sprayed on the utensils, to achieve the cleaner and brighter utensils.

  • Step 5: Draining the Dirty Water:

Now the detergent water that gets dirty after cleaning the dishes is automatically drained. It will make your utensils free of any oil or sticky items. Your dishes are now ready to be washed with clean water.

  • Step 6: Spraying the Clean Water and Draining the Water:

After the expected cleaning of the utensils with the detergent, more water is filled in the dishwasher. The device is programmed to spray water with necessary force on all the dishes one by one to make it free from detergent. All the water is drained automatically once the dish is completely clean.

  • Step 7: Heating the Utensils for Drying:

If all your utensils are clean, the dishwasher is now set to the heating mode. The heater is switched on that heats the air inside the dishwasher and dries all the utensils inside the appliance.

Thus, you will put all your dirty utensils in the appliance, and you will get the clean and dry dishes outside the appliance to be arranged directly in your kitchen. However, you have to make sure that you should not keep the dirty dishes inside the appliance with leftover food. Make sure you disperse it in the dustbin, before putting the dishes in the dishwasher. If there is heavy dirt clogged in the appliance, it will block your dishwasher, and it will not perform satisfactorily.

Final Words:

Until you operate the device in a standard manner, you will receive all the comfort out of it. However, to continue receiving the smooth services, you will have to clean the dishwasher drain from time to time.

If it gets filled with dirt, it will not be able to perform the draining function precisely and you might have to call for Dishwasher Repair person.
